November Niner Max Steinberg Loses Goldfish Award to Ted Lawson by 1 Vote!

It's official: the absolutely virtual and purely ‘honorary’ RankingHero Goldfish Award goes to @Ted Lawson with a misread at a PLO final table from WSOP 2004! The fact that Lawson actually went on to win the event and the half a million dollar prize only comes to confirm what we all tell ourselves when we make some goldfish move or other at the poker tables - it happens to the best of us!

The hand was nominated by @Mark Duguid and started out with an overwhelming lead on the first days of voting.

The suspense was at its height on Monday afternoon when @Jordan Hooper’s nomination picked up a lot of votes and came dramatically close to the win.

The form was turned off this morning at 9am GMT, two hours after the last vote was cast for the imaginary straight, giving Mark Duguid a RankingHero T-shirt and the honor to bestow the inaugural Goldfish Award for Funniest Poker Fail to Ted Lawson :)

Congrats and many thanks to Jordan Hooper who fought valiantly on social media for his nominee, 2015 November Niner @Max Steinberg with a hand from the 2013 WSOP National Championship. Jordan won a card deck, along with @Simonetta and @Emty, with most points from nominations and likes in the first round of the Goldfish Mission!

And, as promised, here are our two randomly drawn  winners - congratulations to @Farcas Paul and @Startling Grope! You each win a RankingHero deck of cards!

Over the past weeks we've been looking for and sharing funny poker bluffs, folds, misreads, and calls. By giving 'likes' to the nominated hands, RankingHero members picked four finalists for the virtual Goldfish Award. It is now time to vote for the winner!
